The Laws of Murder
The Laws of Murder by Charles Finch

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was the second Charles Lenox mystery I listened to, and as with the earlier one, I found it quite enjoyable. Although a bit slow-paced, I was never tempted to stop reading. I’m a sucker for historical mysteries and this one does a wonderful job of transporting the reader to another time. I will definitely read more in this series.

The Screaming Staircase
The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A thoroughly enjoyable young adult mystery/adventure, with a fascinating setting and premise. The story is fast-paced and the characters are interesting and believable. The idea of a world where ghosts are a very real presence and danger is fresh and unique. A lot of fun!

Review: And Only to Deceive

And Only to Deceive
And Only to Deceive by Tasha Alexander

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a delightful read. It proceeds at a leisurely pace, but that seems quite fitting for the Victorian setting and the situation of the book’s narrator/main character. The plot has many threads and kept me guessing until quite near the end. Very enjoyable if you like historical mysteries.

Looks like we’re on track to reveal the cover art for Dark Beneath the Moon…tomorrow! I’m super excited to show you this cover because I simply adore the amazing art by Ashley Walters.

What’s that? You want a sneak peek? Well, okay, just a little one…

DBTMteaseOoh, wow. Who is that? What’s that behind her?

Nope. Can’t tell. Come see tomorrow. :)
